Over the last eight weeks, our Liger School Team have been diligently working on their collaboration with their Cambodian peers. This exciting project has brought together 15 students in Years 8 to 11 to work alongside Liger School, an innovative school in Cambodia that is working on creating spice packs and recipe meal kits that are to be sold commercially.
Running during lunchtimes, this initiative has seen students committing their time outside of academic classes to meet with Ms. Fox in the kitchen twice a week. This commitment to the project outside of the student’s academic classes has displayed a true dedication to the success of the program.
Thus far, the students have been:
- Strengthening their connection with Liger School through teamwork and virtual meetings.
- Engaging in five weeks of recipe testing, providing detailed feedback to our Liger counterparts.
- Conducting cost analysis, comparing their creations to similar Australian products.
- Discussing packaging, product design, and marketing strategies.
- Capturing photos and videos during recipe testing to contribute to a recipe book that will be shared with the public as part of Liger’s meal kit initiative.
This project is not just about cooking – it’s about students from different year levels working together, sharing skills and building something meaningful beyond the classroom. Many of our students are eager to keep the project going even after the official collaboration with Liger ends.
The virtual meetings have been a highlight, with students enthusiastically exchanging ideas, troubleshooting challenges, and mapping out the project’s future. Our TKS students have displayed their passion and problem-solving skills throughout the program. They have been a credit to TKS!
We are excited to see where this journey will lead us and are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with The Liger School.
